Yarn Amounts

Standard Lengths

2 (2, 3, 3, 3) (3, 4, 4, 4) skeins

Or approximately

580 (645, 725, 795, 895) (950, 110, 1125, 1245)m / 640 (710, 800, 875, 985) (1045, 1190, 1240, 1370) yards of a fingering-weight yarn

Tall Lengths

For tall lengths, you will need approximately an extra 60 (70, 75, 80, 90) (90, 100, 110, 95)m / 65 (75, 80, 90, 100) (100, 110, 120, 105) yards of fingering-weight yarn

If adding or subtracting length to this design, please be aware that meterage / yardage amounts will differ.

Yarn Substitution

Choose a wooly natural fibre fingering-weight yarn with good loft. Single ply yarns tend to bloom and become very cozy after blocking. Idea: Yarnalia Skylark

NEEDLES

• 3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle 80-100cm / 32-40 inches long (longer needle for size 5+) for body, PLUS a 40cm / 16 inch circular needle for pocket

• 3 mm / US 2½ circular needle 80-100cm / 32-40 inches long (longer needle for size 5+) for hem, PLUS a circular needle 40cm / 16 inch long for collar and armhole edgings (or use longer circular and magic loop technique), PLUS 2 DPNs for button loop

Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

GAUGE (after blocking)

23 stitches x 30 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches on 3.5 mm / US 4 needles in Stockinette stitch

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
