A Note On AI Usage

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is quickly becoming normalized in our day to day lives. Many have accepted it as a tool to solve problems and perform certain tasks more quickly and with little to no effort.

Our opinion on the matter is that although there is a place and a function for the use of AI, it is not a neutral tool and should not be used within the creative sector.

We would like to assure our patrons that none of our pattern content (including text, images, charts) is AI generated, and all is solely created by real human beings (Sachiko and Kiyomi, tech editors, and test knitters)! We use sites and platforms such as Squarespace, Instagram, Affinity, etc., all of which have AI features, and we opt-out of them where we can and when we are aware of them.

We ask that you please respect our creator content and refrain from using AI tools to resize, translate or rewrite our patterns in any way. We believe that doing so would result in a poor outcome for your project, and could potentially lead to our work being shared without permission.

Although knitting can be replicated by machine, there is still nothing more beautiful and special than a hand-knitted item where every stitch is made with care and intention (and sometimes imperfection!). We hope the hand-craft industry will continue to uphold this unique and very human art form and find value in its slow and meditative process.

Thank you for your trust and understanding :)
